On Wednesday 25th October 2017 the Bristo Square Chaplaincy will run and host a Conference from 11:30-16:00 as part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival.
Our focus at “When Education Becomes Possible” will be the transformative nature of education. Often paths to education are obstructed through political, social or personal turmoil. We will hear and tell stories of education being brought within people’s reach and transforming lives. More information is available on the Conference website at http://www.alightforall.org/ and we hope you are able to join us for part of the day, or indeed the whole Conference.
Presentations will include stories from: The Sanctuary University; Digital Learning in crisis zones; University of the People; Philosophy for pre-schoolers; Teen Spirit Syrian tutoring for teenagers; Light up Learning; Staged for Life; A Light for Aleppo; Philosophy in Prisons; a young girl’s Vietnamese Boat experience; educating yourself through dance; Project Elpis and Raspberry Tea; EducAid, and more besides. Watch this space for the full programme, which will be published soon.
